Description
“We wrote this song while sitting on a picnic blanket in a parking field at Druridge Bay straight after the 10th anniversary dip while surrounded by a group of wonderful people we dip with every year. No plan or writing down of any lyrics, just spontaneous joy (and chaos) inspired by the morning dip we’d had (and all the previous ones we’d experience throughout our lives). I think that it really encapsulates what the skinny dip is: a purely wild thing that feels utterly freeing. Being truly present in the moment and feeling the community of the people you are with. Spontaneous human connection and pure joy.”

“We are both so grateful to Jax for giving us such an amazing opportunity. I’m so glad mum got us to play it for her straight away! I’ll remember singing to her in her pink fold out chair and dressing gown in the Druridge Bay parking lot at 9am for the rest of my life. The skinny dip means so much to us, we’ve been going since we were probably 6 and 4 and the amount of joy and community it brings is just fantastic. It’s helped me feel so much more comfortable in my body. It is such an important and powerful thing that I feel so thankful to be a part of. And to have a song we wrote at 17 and 15 become a piece of that incredible legacy? Wow wow wow! So unbelievably grateful and filled with so much love for everyone involved, both in the organising and the dipping itself, I love getting naked with you all!”
“We would like to dedicate this song to our dear friend Sally who we were staying with that night. Even though she will no longer be physically at the skinny dip, her soul will live on with us and she will be there with us every year in spirit”
